Ready For the World Cup in HD

Treat yourself to glorious Freeview HD for the World Cup.

For the first time we can enjoy this sporting event in HD without it costing you an arm and a leg. Several sources are available for HD. Sky HD,Virgin media HD and now the easiest,Freeview HD, coming via your TV Aerial already sitting on your Rooftop. Freeview HD is simply an extension of the current Freeview package, transmitted at a lower signal level, until the digital switch over is complete, meaning that if you have existing hiccups, or missing Freeview channels, caused by poor signal,HD will definitely be an headache to receive.

Freeview HD cannot be received with your current Freeview box or the integrated Freeview Televisions currently out there. You have to purchase either a Television with Freeview HD built in, or buy a new Freeview box that can decode the HD signal, however once bought there are no recurring monthly charges to put up with

It is a crying shame that HD ready televisions lurking in most British living rooms, do not have HD running on their screens. Sharp crisp pictures with amazing depth and feel, totally transforms the experience of watching television.,you really do become a part of the events on Screen, whether its cooking programmes or Arctic travel, HD really is a radical new direction for Television.

Ok HD programming is a little bit thin on the ground, for the time being, but we do have C4 HD,C5 HD along with BBC HD and ITV HD on Freeview HD.

Now we have the imminent arrival of BBC 1 HD in the Autumn, with EastEnders being shown in HD for the first time, coupled with all BBC programmes being in HD by 2012

Freeview HD will be the no1 method of receiving HD.

A because it is free, and B there are no pieces of extra equipment like a Satellite dish to bolt to your house.

Some simply don't have the option of a Dish,if for instance the landlord or planning regulations don't allow it,or buildings or trees are blocking line of site to the satellite.

Here is a quick guide to checking if your current signal is up to receiving Freeview HD.

Freeview will even with a first class Aerial pixelate occasionally, only for a few seconds, maybe one or two.

If on the other hand you have a picture that freezes,or if a loud crack followed by the picture freezing, then you won't really be in a position to receive Freeview HD,without work on your Aerial.

This doesn't always mean replacing the complete Aerial. Poor cable connections,or simply a low signal that can be amplified quite easily, that with your analogue Television picture you could quite happily live with.

If you are thinking of changing your Television for the World Cup,or just in the market for a new Television, you need to pay that bit extra for a Television with Freeview HD built in,it is well worth it.
